If you think about hypnosis as getting to what lies below the tip of the iceberg it helps to make more sense of this as a healing modality.  Often our subconscious and unconscious minds make decisions well before our conscious mind has awareness of it.  The tip of the iceberg is our current awareness, it’s what we see and feel every day.  The bigger picture of the iceberg is the massive amounts of ice we cannot see just below the surface.  Getting to the parts of the iceberg we cannot see, but know it is there, is an easy way to describe hypnosis.
