Professional Recovery Coaching

Hi, I’m Coach Steve and like you I have struggled with addiction, alcohol to be exact.  In Wisconsin it was pretty hard to quit drinking, but I have been sober now for more than 25 years.  I know I make it sound easy, and it certainly wasn’t, especially in the beginning.  As I progressed in my recovery journey I kept researching how to help others make their recovery journey’s easier than my own.  So I began to study recovery coaching which let to case management and then addiction interventions.  I am prepared to help you gain long term sobriety through recovery coaching.  I am looking forward to meeting you soon!

What Is Recovery Coaching?

Recovery coaching is a relatively new way to gain sobriety. It’s not like therapy because I do not address the past, do not heal trauma and will not diagnose you. I support positive change, will work with you on your life goals whether it is related to addiction or not. As a recovery coach I will focus on a strength-based way to help you. This is a collaborative process, putting you in the driver’s seat of your own recovery journey.

Recovery coaching is also very different from an AA sponsor.  As a recovery coach I am a trained professional rather than a lay person or peer.  I can help you through case management and goal planning and sobriety barrier removal.  I do not practice 12-step recovery or go through the big book with you.

Let’s Get You Clean and Sober

As a Recovery Coach I am thrilled to be helping you with your sober journey! I have focused my education and training on coaching for alcohol problems. Of primary concern is helping you re-balance your body for sustained recovery through nutrient and neurotransmitter repair. If you are a binge drinker, a daily drinker or drinking is causing a bunch of problems and you are ready for a change, then you are in the right spot. If the 12-step program is not appealing, or you have tried it before and it just didn’t fit, then Recovery Coaching could be a great option for you.

Research is showing that those who use a recovery coach are more likely to stay in long term recovery than those who do not.  This is great news especially since the odds of traditional recovery have a less than a 5% success rate.  Recovery coaching improves that tremendously.

Families Need Recovery Coaching Too

If you have a loved one in recovery then you need a recovery coach too!  Family systems tend to keep people sick and it’s time that we break those old patterns and develop new, healthy habits.  If your loved one is currently in rehab then there is no time like the present to get things started for yourself.  Recovery coaching can help you gain strength, set goals and create solid boundaries.  I would love to help.
