Welcome back! In my last blog I showed you the basic components of a astrology natal chart. This time I’m going to show you how it all comes together with the help of a celebrity’s chart.
I start a session by looking at your Ascendant, This is the place where the Sun was ascending over the horizon at the moment of your birth. Unlike your Sun Sign which takes 30 days to go through a particular Zodiac Sign, your Ascendant changes Signs every 2 ½ hours. Your Ascendant sets the overall tone of your life. It signifies the physical body and how other people perceive you.
Looking at our celebrity natal chart (above) we see that she is a Cancer Ascendant as seen by the symbol As in the Sign of Cancer. She is the embodiment of Cancer, the Mother of the Zodiac. This tells me she is all about nurturing and caring for others, she has a high degree of empathy and wants to make you feel happy, warm, and secure in her presence. She may also be quite controlling on the more negative end of the spectrum.
In this Chart (above) there is the added element of Venus being conjunct, or side by side, with her Ascendant. Venus is the Planet of what you love and value, she is a signifier of beauty, wealth, harmony, relationships, finances and your talents. When she is conjunct the Ascendant so closely, both at 28 degrees of Cancer, it makes for a very beautiful physical appearance, since the Ascendant is the physical body. People see her as extremely feminine and like the living embodiment of the Goddess Venus. And indeed she is considered to be one of the most beautiful women on Earth.
She likes the finer things in life, dressing fashionably, and looking well put together and she expects her partner to do the same. In our culture, although there is great emphasis put on material things and looks, people are berated for embracing these qualities in themselves. By understanding that Venus is strong in her life this can free her up to own this aspect of herself and not suppress or deny it for the benefit of others. If she is truly overly materialistic then it can also serve to awaken her to the more positive spectrum of Venus’ material nature, to help others who are less fortunate bring stability to their lives. This particular woman is intimately involved in dozens of charities with a focus on childhood poverty and bringing peace to our world; a combination of Venus and Cancer. Traits.
